Exxon Tar Sands Pipeline Leaks 80,000 Barrels of Dirty Oil, Keystone XL Pipeline Much Bigger

The fight continues
Dear James,
Delivering to Reid
Last week, we delivered over 100,000 signatures on our joint petition with Environmental Action to Sen. Harry Reid's office to end the billions we give away in oil subsidies every year — 50,000 from USAction members alone. So thanks for taking action!
And the stakes are higher than ever. Just over the weekend, 80,000 barrels of dirty Tar Sands oil leaked from an Exxon pipeline this weekend in Arkansas.1 And Big Oil wants to build the Keystone XL - an even bigger pipeline shipping the same dirty oil, right over an important aquifer in Nebraska.
The time is now to end the billions in Big Oil subsidies we pay out every year, and invest in clean, renewable energy.
While the Senate did consider Sen. Whitehouse’s amendment to end big oil subsidies, unfortunately it did not pass. But that doesn’t mean the fight is over yet. The budget that was passed in the Senate does not rule it out, and we’re hopeful that President Obama’s budget — out next week — will include an end to oil subsidies as it has in the past.
Help our campaign go one step further. Share this important image from Americans for Tax Fairness on just how much we lose when ExxonMobil doesn't pay their fair share.

We’ve been working to end oil subsidies for years, and now we have a real opportunity to solve it together. Thanks for taking action to end the Big Oil Billion Dollar Boondoggle. Stay tuned for more details as this fight heats up in Congress.

Sincerely,
Ross Wallen
